Commentary
This is a description concerning the Jews of the tribe, named Banu
Quayzah, who used to live in strong fortresses in the East of Madinah.
They had made a treaty of peace with Muslims. When the Infidels attacked on Madinah,
they supported them and broke their treaty with the Muslims. When the Infidels ran
away from the Ditch in destructive condition; then the people of Banu
Qurayzah rushed headlong into their strongholds.
Messenger of Allaah Almighty along with entire Muslims besieged
them immediately. In straitened circumstances, after twenty five days’
blockade, they began to talk for truce, came out from their fortresses and
admitted that judgment in favor of them by Sa’d son of Ma’aaz
(who was Chieftain of the tribe of Aws) would be acceptable to them. He judged
that the Jews committed a grave treachery during evil days, so their young men should
be slain, their children and women should be captivated, ownership of their
wealth and property should be given to the Refugees (Muhaajiriin). This
judgment was according to the Commandment of Torah.
It has been commanded in this verse: Allaah Almighty cast
terror of Muslims in the hearts of the Jews by His Scheme. You killed their young
people, imprisoned their women and children and your refugee companions seized their
wealth and property, by which burden of local people (Ansaar) was
reduced from them.
After that, it is commanded: Then Allaah Almighty caused
you to inherit such land which you had not
trodden. It aims “the land of Khyber, Conquest of Makkah or subsequent Islamic
victories.
