Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

Commentary

Sayaasii – (strongholds, fortresses), this word is plural of siisiyatun, which means “a strong house of refuge or powerful weapon”. Here first meaning has been taken.

A commotion arose among the Hypocrites when collective Army of the Infidels besieged Madinah, but the Muslims got ready to fight satisfactorily. After describing about the separate behaviors of the both (Muslims and Hypocrites), it is commanded: Allaah Almighty examined them. The condition of the Hypocrites was exposed, but the Believers got success.

It is commanded: The Infidels were defeated by the Grace of Allaah Almighty. They failed, were disappointed and ran away from the Battlefield. Such cool and sharp wind came that they had lost their senses and there was no other solution save running away. They deserted from the Battlefield in their rage without obtaining any good. Moreover, one great wrestler of them named Amru son of Abdud was defeated and killed by Ali (May Allaah be pleased with him). The Muslims did not have any opportunity of fighting. Allaah Almighty saved them from fighting and caused the enemies to run away from the Battlefield by His Management.

When the Muslims got victory in the Battlefield, then they returned towards the treacherous Jews of the tribe of Banu Qurayzah. Allaah Almighty brought them down from their fortresses and they also reached their punishment.
