Making Satan equal with the Lord

Chapter “Shu-‘araaa’”- (The Poets) - 26

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

 (I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

                                                           

قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ 96  تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ 97  إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ 98  وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ 99  فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَٰفِعِينَ 100  وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ 101  فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ 102  إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ 103  وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ 104

96.  And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein – 97.  By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest – 98.  When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 99.  It was but the guilty who misled us. 100.  Now we have no intercessors – 101.  Nor any loving friend. 102.  Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the Believers! 103.  Lo! herein is indeed a Portent, yet most of them are not Believers. 104.  And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.

96.  Qaaluu  wa  hum  fiihaa  yakhtasimuun. 97.  Tallaahi  ‘in  kunnaa  lafii  zalaalim-mubiin. 98.  ‘Iz  nusawwiikum-  bi-Rab-bil-‘Aalamiin. 99.  Wa  maaa  ‘azallanaaa  ‘illal-mujrimuun.  100.  Famaa  lanaa  min-  shaafi-‘iin. 101.  Wa  laa  sadiiqin  hamiim. 102.  Fa-law  ‘anna  lanaa  kar-ratan-  fanakuuna  minal- Mu’-miniin. 103.  ‘Inna  fii  zaalika  la-‘Aayah.  Wa  maa  kaana  ‘aksaru-hum- Mu’-miniin. 104.  Wa  ‘inna  Rabbaka  la-Huwal-  ‘Aziizur-Rahiim. (Section 5)

Commentary

Hamiimin – {sincere, loving (friend)}, this word is from hamm, which means “to come nigh, to manifest sincerity, to show warmth of affection”. Here it aims: The friend who is astray.

After entering into the Hell, all disciples of Satan will quarrel with and blame one another. Later on, they will admit by compulsion that they entire were involved in open depravity that they used to make the devil equal with Allaah Almighty. They will say: We were misled by these evildoers. We have no friend from the good people today. Those people who had friendly intercourse with the righteous, have been enjoying, but there is none who ask from us about our condition. Those have been involved in their own calamities instead of being our intercessors; to whom we chose as our gods. Would that we had been sent back on the earth and we had shown becoming strong believers.

At the end of the story, it is commanded: There is a Portent of Our Cognizance also in the circumstance of Abraham (peace be upon him), but most of the people do not believe. Allaah Almighty is indeed the Mighty and the Merciful.
