Commentary
As soon as Moses (peace be upon him) threw his staff on the
earth, imaginary snakes and serpents of the wizards disappeared. Deception of
magic was scattered. The wizards ceased dream of carelessness and fell
prostrate helplessly. They all spoke out of one voice: We have believed that
the Lord of the Worlds is True and Inevitable. In Whom Moses and Aaron (peace
be upon them) believe that He (Allaah) is their Lord, The Same is the
Lord of the Worlds, and we also put our faith in That Lord. These both persons speak
the truth.
Pharaoh was enraged after looking this manner and he said
threatening them: What are you going to do this? What did you see that without waiting
for my command and decision, you have become slaves of Moses and Aaron (peace
be upon them)? It seems from your action that he (peace be upon him) is your big
spiritual guide, and you already were partners of him. It is found that he is
your teacher and you have learnt magic from him (peace be upon them). And you
all have made counsel collectively to mislead my people, make them your
followers and have come to take possession of my Country.
It is true that the people who are authority and purse-proud,
nothing is visible to them save it that “whosoever says something against us,
is a rebel. We should defeat him anyhow”. Powerful people often cause to kill
those immediately who oppose them.
Pharaoh did not order to slaughter Moses (peace be upon him)
because erroneously he had asked from his courtiers that what should they do? And
they did not give counsel to kill him.
The actual matter is “Who can kill to whom God saves”?
