Commentary
The mention concerning the tribe of ‘Aad went to an end
on the previous lesson. The consequence of disobeying the Sayings of
Prophet Huud (peace be upon him) was worst for them. Severe wind blew
and their houses, gardens and minarets (all things) were ruined. The disobedient
human beings were dashed on the ground with violence by the pressure of
wind-storm. They fell down and died. Recite their story and take it as a
warning. Result of disobeying Allaah Almighty and denying His Messengers
(peace be upon them) is nothing but destruction.
After the tribe of ‘Aad; a new tribe was born and grew.
It was the tribe of Thamud. People of that tribe also assumed the same
rebellion. For their guidance, Allaah Almighty appointed Salih
(peace be upon him) as His Prophet and sent towards them. He (peace be upon
him) also conveyed the same Message at first, which usually the Messengers
(peace be upon them) deliver. He (peace be upon him) said: O slaves of Allaah!
Do you not ward off (evil) and fear from His wrath that you have been involved
in the works contrary to His Will? I am His faithful Messenger and have been
sent for your guidance. So keep your duty to Allaah Almighty and obey
me. Neither I desire any wage from you for this purpose and nor I demand
respect or honor from you. My Lord, Who is the Lord of the Worlds, will give me
reward of my work because He has appointed me for this work and ordered me to
fulfill my duty.
