Commentary

It has been explained in these verses that all human beings are not equal with one another. Many of them are dead-heart, although they move from one place to the other. They pay no attention whether someone says useful words. They are just like the dead bodies lying in the graves. However, Allaah Almighty has power of causing to hear and understand to whom He desire and show him the Right Path. But there is none someone else who may have this power.

It has been commanded in this verse: Allaah causes to hear whom He wills, but O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him)! You cannot make hear the dead bodies lying in the graves. Your duty is to inform only. However they have been empowered to admit or reject. You should warn the mankind from the consequences of wicked deeds. We have appointed you a Bearer of glad tidings for those who are righteous and a Warner for those who commit evils. And it is not a new matter. There remained in every nation a Warner who used to frighten the people from the consequences of wrong deeds. According to that established order and for the same purpose, We have appointed you and sent as a Messenger. After you, your followers will perform the same duty everywhere and for always as your Caliphs until the Last Day. The same True and Just Scripture, which We have revealed unto you, will be on their tongues and in their hearts. And they will explain thoroughly by their words and works about goodness and badness of every individual’s personal deeds according to its commandments. The people will face if they will not understand. Guidance is neither in your power and nor in their power. It is only in the Power of Allaah Almighty.
