Commentary

It is compulsory for estimating the power and control of Allaah Almighty that the mankind should consider thoughtfully this verse and other verses like this, otherwise if he will use own sense in this regard, will suffer a great loss, because sometimes the sense of mankind is conquered by desires. And till the time he will not take help from the Light of Holy Qur’an, his understanding cannot work properly.

It is commanded: If Allaah Almighty desires to grant something from His mercy, none can withhold it. But if He Himself withholds something, then none can release it save Him. He is the Owner of power and strength, and only He is Who knows that what should be granted to whom? Found from it is that the person who believed that there exists someone else who can grant or snatch something, he did not know Allaah Almighty.

It has been described in this verse: One should neither ask for something from any other than Allaah Almighty; perceiving that really he has power of granting, and nor one should flatter someone due to fear that he would snatch back his favor if he got angry.

After that it is commanded: O mankind, you should not forget the favors of Allaah Almighty which all things of your requirement He bestowed to you.
