Commentary
The
verses of Holy Qur’an were sent down occasionally along with the
Commandments according to the circumstances. At the time of descending, arrangement
order was not regarded, but timely need was paid regard. If the Holy Qur’an
had been sent down all at once, then concerning required Commandments would
have been searched from the entire Qur’an at the time of necessity and every
case could not be settled finally at the spot, because time barred decision
becomes useless.
It is
the reason that even in the presence of complete Holy Qur’an, there was
a need of Hadith {the Sayings of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings
and peace be upon him)} also because in it, a finder can find final decision immediately
at any particular occasion. And because that is decision (Saying) of the
Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon
him), so it can never be contrary to the spirit of Holy Qur’an. Later on,
when it was felt difficult to find out the commandment quickly, then need of
Theology (the Science of the Muslim Law) arose. Principles of finding the
commandments mentioned in Qur’an and Hadith were determined and different
decisions in proper form were prepared separately at one place in a Book, which
was called Fiqah. After coming of the Revelation, every verse was placed
with the configuration in concerning Chapter according to Sayings of the
Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). When entire verses
were recorded in order, then Holy Qur’an came in the form of a Book.
Therefore,
it is commanded, these verses, which are being recited before you, are of Holy
Qur’an, which is a compiled and written in a manifest way Scripture. From it,
those people will get guidance and good tidings, who believe in Allaah
Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), and
who establish worship regularly, pay the poor-due according to the Commandment,
and believe that they would have to be reproduced after death and to enter in
the World of Hereafter.
