Things upon which perpetual pleasure depend

Chapter Shu-‘araaa’”- (The Poets) - 26

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

This matter strikes assuredly in the hearts of those who meditate in the strangeness of this Chapter’s manner of expression and way of uttering words that the mankind forgets those things; upon which his perpetual pleasure depend, when he looks apparent beauty and elegance, affectation, hustle & bustle of this world. For awakening the mankind from the dreams of ignorance, Allaah Almighty sent His last and greatest Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) in the world along with His last, most important and perfect Scripture, named Holy Qur’an. He gave him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) this responsibility that, because this Qur’an is in Arabic language, so He has determined that at first the people of Arab should understand it carefully.

Allaah Almighty commands: Recite this Qur’an at first before the people of Arab and establish their society in accordance with its commandments. When the people of Makkah (Mecca) disobeyed him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) publicly, he experienced a great shock and began to remain sorrowful when he observed that the people have rejected the matters of their own betterment. He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) has been consoled in this Chapter: Don’t torment yourself for the sake of disobedient people, perform your responsibility continuously. The end of that person will not be good who will consider that commandments of Holy Qur’an are false, and who will not listen to you. Say to them clearly: I am against that way which you have chosen, and I will sweep it away. You can never harm me. My Supporter and Protector is the Lord of the Worlds. I put my faith in His Mercy and Kindness.

To strengthen this Belief, circumstances of those ancient people have been caused to hear who began to break the principles of humanity. They falsified that Prophet (peace be upon him) who came to make them to understand, and they denied from obeying his sayings. Consequently they were ruined.

Recite before the people and inform them concerning the circumstances of ancient people that you say to them the same whatsoever earlier Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them) said to their own tribes, that “I am a faithful and true Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) of Allaah Almighty. I am ready to do all such works which are better for you and I ask of you no wage therefor. Your only work is that you should follow me; otherwise your end will also be destruction like ancient nations.

Actual way of preaching has been described at the end of the Chapter that at first you should make your people to understand, and then organize a class of them who guide others by their morality and conduct towards the Straight Path. If other people begin to do wrong then you should face them suitably and keep the faith that consequence of the oppressor is not good. They will have to suffer from the punishment of their tyranny sooner or later.
