Draw nigh and fear not. Lo! thou art of those who are secure.

Commentary
Shaati-‘in – (towards, edge, side), origin of this
word is shat-‘un.
Moses (peace be upon him) left behind his family and proceeded
towards that direction where he had seen a Light. It was a place in the right
side of the feet of a Mountain, where a Tree was blazing like burning fire. He heard
a voice from the Tree: O Moses (peace be upon him): Look at My Splendor! I am Allaah
unquestionably and I am the Lord of the Worlds. I have called you here for a
purpose. Throw down the staff on the ground which is in your hand!
Moses (peace be upon him) threw down his staff, then he saw it writhing as if it was a snake. He (peace be
upon him) turned in flight and did not return. Allaah Almighty said: O
Moses (peace be upon him): Come near and don’t fear. This snake cannot harm
you. You are one of those who are secured directly by Us.
This story of Moses (peace be upon him) is being told again and
again, so that the last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon
him) and the Believers have full faith that Allaah Almighty appoints His
Messenger to whom He desires. And other people also should understand it that
the Messenger-hood is inevitable and the Messengers (peace be upon them) have
come also in the past.
