nothing but a tyrant in the land, thou wouldst not be of the reformers.
20. And a man came from
the uttermost part of the City, running. He said: O Moses! Lo! the chiefs
take counsel against thee to slay thee; therefore escape. Lo! I am of those
who give thee good advice.

Commentary
The Israeli said not only that which has been described in the
previous lesson, but he said also: You killed a man yesterday and today you
desire to kill me. He continued saying: You know use of your physical strength.
Can you not make reconciliation softly between two men who are fighting?
However, their dispute was settled by any means which has not been discussed.
But that, which was said by the Israeli concerning the incident
of the day before, was disclosed and immediately the News was spread in the
entire City that he was Moses (peace be upon him) who killed a Qabtii
yesterday. It was revealed also in the Court of Pharaoh that Moses (peace be
upon him) was the killer of the yesterday’s murder. Great courtiers began to
think because it was an unusual matter that a man of ruler tribe was
slaughtered so easily and carelessly. All of them cried out that Moses (peace
be upon him) should be slain.
After hearing this conversation, a man came, running, from the
farthest end of the City and said to Moses (peace be upon him): Courters have
been finalizing their decision that you should be slaughtered, whereas you are
sitting careless. Exit from this City quickly! I say for your welfare.
