Commentary

Sikhriyyun – (the person, at whom someone else laughs), this word is from sakhar, which means “to ridicule”.

You began to laugh at my obedient slaves and gripped up your loins to trouble them. They used to stand before Me; begging earnestly and silently. They used to call Me out and bow before Me with humility. Then they used to fall prostrate. You ridiculed them and began to laugh at their way of worship. Even that you did not have any other work save it that you should expose to laughter. You forgot My Remembrance entirely and neglected also that I can punish you. Open your eyes and see today that My those slaves at whose sayings you used to laugh in the world, have been succeeded due to My worship and obedience.

Can you tell me that how many years did you tarry in the world? They would be out of their senses due to pain and grief. And they will say: We would have tarried by a day or some hours of a day. The Angels (peace be upon them) who recorded our deeds, it would be in their memory. Ask them that how long did we live in the world!
