Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

103.  Murmuring among themselves: Ye have tarried but ten (days).

104.  We are Best Aware of what they utter when their best in conduct say: Ye have tarried but a day.

104.  Nahnu  ‘A’-lamu  bimaa  yaquuluuna  ‘iz  yaquulu  ‘am-saluhum  Tariiqatan  ‘illabis-tum  ‘illaa  yawmaa.

(Section 5)

Commentary

Yatakhaafa-tuuna – (they will murmur, they will say to one another in very low voice), from the same origin, a word (in negative tense) “Laa  tukhaafit” has passed in near the end of Surah Banii ‘Israaa-‘iil.

‘Am-sala – (best in conduct), it is a comparative noun from the word masala. The words misal and misaal have come out from the same, the thing; which can be a sample for others. It is obvious that such thing will be the best.

Tariiqatan – (Way, Path), here it aims “way of thinking and comprehending”.

‘Am-saluhum  Tariiqatan – (the best in conduct, of sound mind).

On the Day of Resurrection, those people who had disobeyed the Commands of Allaah Almighty during their worldly life, will be laid siege and collected to one place. Color of their eyes will be changed and become blue. Their hearts will be confused. There will be such scene that they will forget their entire pomp and pride. They will see their numerous hopes, unlimited desires and efforts of collecting worldly goods, raptures and jollities etc. like dreams and thoughts. They will murmur with one another: The world has been finished as quickly as it seems that we lived there only not more than ten days.

It is commanded: We are Best Aware of their murmuring among themselves. They can hide nothing from Us by murmuring. After suffering from the calamities of the Day of Resurrection, they will tell due to horror that they lived in the world for only ten or twelve days. But their intelligent people will say: Not ten days but we lived only one day. Their guess will be better than others, because by this; it seems that they felt more fear of the Day of Resurrection, which is a sign of their better sensibility.
