Quran Chapter 29: Intro (Pt-20, Stg-5) (L-2462) درس قرآن

Short Note on Suratul-‘Ankabuut

Chapter ’Ankabuut”- (The Spider) - 29

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahiminash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

This is Twenty Ninth Chapter in accord with the order of Holy Qur’an, in which there are Seven Sections. ‘Al-‘Ankabuut means “The Spider”. In a verse of this Chapter, the Faiths of the Disbelievers have been illustrated by a simile of spider’s web, more than which nothing is weak. It was revealed in the last times of staying at Makkah. The aim from it is to comfort the Muslims who were being oppressed by the Idolaters of Makkah and had been suffering from many troubles during those days. At last those people prosper who remain steadfast in difficulties. Ease and comfort can neither be obtained without undergoing hard labor, nor pure and false can be distinguished without examining.

The mankind should not consider that reciting Kalimah only (None is worthy of worship but God, Muhammad is Messenger of God) is sufficient for being a Muslim and then doing according to own will. That’s not it. After reciting Kalimah, it becomes incumbent on a Muslim that he should abide by the Commandments of Allaah Almighty, work hard in His obedience, endure calamities and remain steadfast. This is an examination of him. That will attain actual prosperity of this world and the Hereafter (at both places) who will pass this test.

It is being commanded to the Muslims: Have patience on those oppressions which you have been receiving by the hands of the Disbelievers of Makkah. Result of this patience will be very good. The Believers before you were also put in afflictions by their enemies. By this manner, Allaah Almighty separates true people from the liars. These evildoers, who have been molesting you, should not consider that they will escape from Our Hand. They will come to know their guilt very soon.

For manifesting these contents, some circumstances of ancient nations have been described in this Chapter, who oppressed the Believers. They found bad result of their wicked deeds, and on the Day of Resurrection they will also be suffering from severe Doom.

It has been commanded to the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him): Recite Qur’an and act upon its Commandments! Neither the Disbelievers of old times found any good fruit due to disobeying the Commandments of Allaah Almighty, and nor these Disbelievers will prosper due to your disobedience.

The world is a sport and a show only. The actual life is the life of the Hereafter. We should earn for the Day of Resurrection from that which we have been given here. Allaah Almighty will help those who grip up their loins for doing good works.
