Commentary

Yulaqqaa – (is granted, will obtain), origin of this word is talqiyatun which has been derived from laqyun. Laqyun means “to meet”. From the same origin, a word laqaa’ has come out which means “meeting”. Talqiyatun means “to bring together, to harmonize, to unite”. Laa  yulaqqaa means “is not united, is not given”. Laa  yulaqqaahaa means “they are not granted”, that is to say, it does not reach them.

After looking pomp and adornment of Korah, mouths of worldly-minded people were filled with water. They began to say: Would that we had wealth and goods like what were given to Qarun. He is very lucky and one of great fortunate. His all desires have been fulfilled. He revels and lives very comfortably.

By observing their condition, intelligent people who were aware of the reality, said: O unfortunate people! What are you saying this? What has kept in this temporary splendor? How much day will he live with them? It is nothing before those luxurious things which Allaah Almighty has kept ready for His obedient people. But those things will be granted to such people who remain patient and steadfast after looking rich and great people in the world. They are contented on that what Allaah Almighty has given to them and they comply with His Commandments. They do not desire the life as of the worldly-minded people.
