Commentary
It is commanded: When Korah, Pharaoh and Hamaan got ready for
revolting, We sent Moses (peace be upon him) for causing to understand them. He
produced before them such open and clear Tokens as proof of his Prophet-hood,
by observing of which, no one could have any doubt in his Messenger-hood, but nothing
was visible to them before their power and dignity, wealth and property. They
became ignorant intentionally. They had eyes and ears but neither did they see
and nor hear. Pharaoh was the King of Egypt and so much powerful that he had
claimed to be God. He said clearly: I am not ready to accept any other as
greater than me, who may order me.
Haamaan was his Minister.
He said: While Pharaoh gives me everything then why should I see towards any
other? Korah (Qaaruun) was from the Children of Israel and he had
admitted that Moses (peace be upon him) was a Prophet. But having so much
wealth he considered that obeying Moses (peace be upon him) was unnecessary. He
thought: I am rich, so my wealth will protect me from all calamities.
It is commanded: Neither anyone of them was out of Our Seizure and nor
they had power to win from Us in competition. They used to boast verbally,
could be defeated in Our one signal only and would not be able to do something
for themselves.
Accordingly the same happened. Our wrath seized all wrongdoers in
different forms - not only Korah, Pharaoh or Hamaan, but whosoever
gripped up his loins on rebellion.
