Commentary

After describing the behavior of the mankind generally in the world, Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is being consoled that these people of Arab do not use their sense as it is required, otherwise it cannot be so; that circumstance around them in the world and realistic verses of Holy Qur’an may not open their eyes, touch their ears and draw the attention of their hearts. With effect from these verses, Portents of Allaah Almighty will be mentioned continuously till long and after describing concerning these Portents, these both verses will be repeated again and again, in which they have been rebuked due to their perverseness and their attention has been drawn towards revenge power of Allaah Almighty and His mercy (both). First Portent is clear from the form of circumstances of this earth.

It is commanded: Why have they become so much obstinate that they become blind while they have eyes? Is it not visible to them that beautiful, delicious and useful flowers, fruits, esculent vegetables, grains and other different kinds of plants are produced from the land? Apparently there is nothing in this earth save mud and stones, but such various things come out from it when the time comes, that is to say, minerals, vegetations and animals which are examples of their own in the universe. This all is a Portent of the Power of Allaah Almighty. Even then maximum people see but do not believe. Remember it that Allaah Almighty is God of the entire living beings. He is the most Powerful and He is the most Merciful.
