Commentary
Baddaluu – (they
changed), it is past tense from the word tab-diil, which means “to
change, to alter, to give in exchange”. Singular of this word is Baddala,
which has passed in Suratul-Baqarah.
Bawaar – (loss, destruction,
ruin), origin of this word is baw-run, which means “to be ruined”. For
Idolaters of Makkah, Daaral-Bawaar was the Field of Badr
in the world, whereas for the entire wrongdoers, in the Hereafter, Daaral-Bawaar
will be “the Hell”.
Yaslaw-na – (they
will enter). Origin of this word is sal-yun, here it means “entering
into the Fire”.
Allah Almighty appointed them chieftains over the Qureish,
bestowed them honor over the entire people of the Arab and made them awe-inspiring.
For their guidance, He sent Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon
him) appointing from them, His last Messenger (who was appointed as a Guide for
them and for the entire world). How much a great Grace of God is upon us if we
think?
Alas! They gave the Grace of Allah Almighty in
exchange of thanklessness and infidelity. So they were accursed by Heaven, as
well as they entangled their folk too in destruction and ruin along with
themselves, who used to consider them their spiritual guides.
Holy Qur’aan promises that the Heaven is for
the Good and the Hell is for wrongdoers. They opposed the Word of God and liked
the Fire of the Hell. Now they will enter into the Hell. They are being warned
once again that “Understand it carefully that the Hell is the Abode of Loss”
