Flatterers of Pharaoh’s folk

Chapter Shu-‘araaa’”- (The Poets) - 26

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

After hearing the answer; reasonable and supported by proofs; from Prophet Moses (peace be upon him), Pharaoh began to look blank. He gave up the topic under discussion and returned to the first sentence, which Moses (peace be upon him) had spoken from his and his brother’s side when they met him that “we are Messengers of the Lord of the Worlds”. Being proud of his kingdom and wealth, Pharaoh had gotten opportunity to claim that he was a lord (god). And flatterer people of his folk had accepted his claim. It was the reason that he had become haughtier than earlier. It does not come in mind that the persons who do not have brain disease, who have not been deceived by honor, wealth and property, or who are not desirous to acquire renown, dignity, wealth and property, do not establish some concept of the Lord of the Worlds in their mind. Being involved in the evil of haughtiness and greediness, a person claims often that he is greater than others. Besides becoming spiritual teacher and a guide, some people claimed falsely that they were Prophets, but none of them mustered courage to claim that he was god, save few persons who were out of their wits.

Pharaoh of the Country of Egypt was also one from those people who were out of their wits. He was a King from the times of his forefathers. Entire country was in his control, countless wealth and property was in his possession. Such people have always numerous followers who cannot be numbered. The flatterers caused him to climb up a bamboo. He said: I am your god. The people replied: Without any doubt. He said: Adore me. His people answered: Most willingly!

In such environments, after hearing bravely slogan of Moses (peace be upon him), there was no expedient save to see his (peace be upon him) face with (real or fake) wonder.

When Moses (peace be upon him) exposed his beneficence to view, then he changed the topic to discuss and asked by becoming ignorance: Tell me, what is the Lord of the Worlds? (God forbid). Moses (peace be upon him) saw through that he was feigning ignorance intentionally, otherwise he has eyes to see the extent of the sky and wideness of the earth, even then he is puffed up upon his little empire and denies the Lord of the Worlds.

Moses (peace be upon him) said: The Lord of the Worlds is He Who created the heavens and the earth. Then He showed wonders of His Omnipotence between both of them. It is a separate thing if any person becomes stubborn intentionally, otherwise if you are ready to believe, then it is impossible that you know not the Lord of the Worlds after beholding this universe established by this astonishing arrangement and believe not in its establishment.
