Verse –112a of 200, Section –12    (Part – 4)

Zuribat  ‘alayhimuz-zillatu  ‘ayna  maa  suqifuuu ‘illaa  bi-Hablim-minallaahi  wa  Hablim-minannaasi  wa  baaa-‘uu  bi  gazabim-minallaahi  wa zuribat  ‘alay-himul-maskanah.

Lesson

Zuribat  – {grievous hurt, is stroke, shall be (their) portion} this Arabic word is also used besides above meanings as “to walk, to affix and to impose”. It has been used for these three meanings in the Holy Qur’an too. Here it has been used as the last meanings of ‘affixed’ or ‘imposed’ (ignominy upon them).

Zillatun- (Ignominy), this word is commonly used for humiliation and disgrace. Some disgraced people and nations remain deprived of respect and honor despite their knowledge, wealth and independence. The disgrace and the humiliation surround them.

Hablim-minallaahi  - (a rope or promise from Allah), means unless these people will not make the Divine law of Islam theirs’ own and follow Allah’s Instructions, ignominy will not be kept away from them. (for more explanation please read lesson # 398).

Hablim-minannaasi  - (a rope or promise from the people) second condition is fixed that if it is not so, then they would have to enter in the articles of agreement with the human beings. Until when they will not get the support of other nations, will not be able to get rid of the disgrace and humiliation.

baaa-‘uu  bi  gazabim-minallaahi  -  (They have incurred anger from their Lord), means they came in the fold of Allah’s wrath due to their evil doings and bad deeds, Divine wrath imposed upon them.

‘al-maskanah -  (wretchedness) poverty and indigence are also forms of anger and wrath of Allah. The financial misery and the economic breakdown are main causes of disgrace themselves of any nation.
