Dignity of Human Being

LESSON # 46 FROM HOLY QUR’AN
BAQARAH – 2 (The Cow)
Dignity of Human Being
Verse – 30a of 286, Section – 4 (Part  - 1)
And when thy Lord said unto
the angels: Lo! I am about to place a viceroy in the earth,
Wa ‘iz qaala Rabbuka lil-Malaaa-‘ikati –“Innii jaa-ilun fil-‘arzi KHALIIF-AH”

Lesson

Malaaa-‘ikati (Angels) this word “Malaaa-‘ikati” came out
from the word “Alook”. Alook means to carry the message.
So Malaaa-‘ikati means the creature which brings the Messages of God towards Prophets and Messengers (Peace be upon Them). The Angels are the Bright and Spiritual Beings. They are pure from sins and do not disobey the orders of God.

KHALIIF-AH – (Viceroy, Caliph). KhaliifatUllah is the person who
establishes the Divine’s Law on the earth. It is evident from here that which powers and abilities will be given to the human being by the God, those will be quite right to establish the caliphate of God.

He is the Lord of the worlds who created the earth, the skies and other all the universe. All things of the earth like vegetation, minerals, beasts and animals, mountains, rivers, canals, springs etc come on the one side of this universe and on the other side the skies and the other things created in the skies. God knows better about the philosophy of creating all the things of earth and skies.

Why The Adam (peace be upon Him) was created? What was the need to make this body of mud (human being)? What is its purpose of life? The answer to these questions has been given in this verse and the verses coming ahead.

When the God completed the work of creation of the earth, skies and all things in between them like the moon, the sun, the stars, rivers, mountains etc and they began their work then The God addressed the Angels (Peace be upon Them), “Now the time has come to know that for whom these things have been created, he should also come in front. The aim is that I want to create my Caliph on the earth who will get the possession of all these things and will complete the motive of God in the world. He will pay The God’s right of Caliphate and Assistance. He will issue and pass the Orders of God.”

God Almighty is The Creator and Master of this universe. He is the Master of all good manners of benevolence. We neither can count His traits and nor works. He has put in the leaven of human being some excellences out of His attributes so that he may show up His characteristics after coming in this world, elevate His name and prove with his speech and deed that he is really the Caliph and Assistant of the God Almighty.

If the God is Merciful then the human being should feel pity not over his near relatives but also over all the living creatures. It is said by the Messenger (Peace and Blessings be upon Him) that if you slaughter any animal, take pity over it, slaughtering knife should be sharp edged so that the animals’ vein may cut off immediately and it does not feel much trouble later on.

One attribute of The God is Justice and Equity. It is the duty of human being that he should do justice and equity equally with all. In this matter he should neither favour his near relative and nor be ignored the stranger. All the persons should be seen with one sight.

One name of The God is For-Bearer also (Mild). The mankind disobeys Him and he indulges in many sins but The God delays, takes it with softness, overlooks it and gives time to the criminal so that he may renounce and change his attitude. It is also our duty that we should produce in ourselves the attribute of mildness. We should keep soft behaviour with our comrades and give them chance for correction on their mistakes.

In short, the human being should try to grow all the traits and manners which are noble of God and treat the people as God treats His servants.

If we do not produce God’s attributes in ourselves then we do not have right to be the Caliph and Assistant of the God Almighty, and we can not get this higher rank any way which He liked for us.
