Quran Chapter 18  21 (Pt-15, Stg-4) (L-1870) درس قرآن

As for the Hour, there is no doubt concerning it

Chapter Kahf (The Cave) – 18

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

21.  And in like manner We disclosed them (to the people of the city) that they might know that the promise of Allah is true, and that, as for the Hour, there is no doubt concerning it. When (the people of the city) disputed of their case among themselves, they said: Build over them a building; their Lord knoweth best concerning them. Those who won their point said: We verily shall build a place of worship over them.
21.  Wa  kazaalika ‘a’-sarNaa  ‘alay-him  liya’-lamuuu  ‘anna  wa’-dAllaahi  haqqunw-wa  ‘annas-Saa-‘ata  laa rayba  fiihaa.  ‘Iz  yatanaaza-‘uuna  bayna-hum  ‘amrahum  fa-qaalub-nuu  ‘alay-him  bunyaanaa.  Rabbuhum  ‘a’-lamu  bihim.  Qaalallaziina  galabuu  ‘alaaa  ‘amrihim  la-nat-takhi-zanna  ‘alayhim-masjidaa.

Commentary

‘A’-sarNaa – (We disclosed), it is past tense from the word ‘a’-saar, origin of which is ‘asara. ‘asuur means “to be dashed against anything all at once, to stumble”. ‘A’-saar means “causing to knock with any thing”. Here it aims “to disclose, to inform”.

One man from the companions of the Cave proceeded to the city and gave the silver coin silently to a shop-keeper for purchasing the food. This silver coin had become outdated at that time and it was replaced by a new silver coin which was in use. The shop-keeper arrested the companion; thinking that certainly he would have found any old treasure and concealed it. When it was inquired then the people knew the actual matter which was verified also from the office of the ancient circumstances.

It has been commanded in this verse: We disclosed before the people of the city about the circumstances of the Companions of the Cave, so that they may know that while the people who tarried for centuries and waked again then what is difficult in reproducing the dead people?

After that it is commanded: The people who were in authority during those days, they decided: Only their Lord knows about actual circumstances of those strange people. However we should build a place of worship at that place where they had been tarrying, so that the people should visit and take warning from their circumstances.
