Lesson

‘Arjih – (Put him off), actually this word is ‘arja’-hu. ‘Irjaaa’ is word of command, origin of which is ‘irjaaa-‘un, which has been derived from raja-‘un. Rajaaa’ means strong hopes and expectation. ‘Irjaaa’ means “to give trust, to cause to wait for”. Here it aims: To put off for some time.

Saahirun – (a wizard), it is a subject, which has been derived from sah-run. This word has passed in Chapter - 2 (Surah) ‘Al-Baqarah. Sah-run means enchantment, magic. The reality of the sahar is only so, that an individual establishes his mind on something. When he gets good practice, he puts impact of his perception on the ideas of others and they begin to think as he is thinking. Such individual is called wizard, magician. Saahirin ‘aliim is that individual, who has become at home in his practice. After looking the miracles of Prophet Moses (peace be upon Him), the people of Pharaoh began to say: It seems that He(peace be upon Him) is a great wizard.

It is commanded that when chief courtiers of Pharaoh saw the miracles of Prophet Moses (peace be upon Him), they said to Pharaoh: The wizards use to show the conjurations like these. It seems that Moses (peace be upon Him) is an expert magician. It is better that Moses (peace be upon Him) and His Brother should be left in like manner for some days and presently they should not be questioned. We should send our summoners hither and thither in every part of the country, that they search, collect and bring the expert wizards in this court, so that they all collectively break the power of the magic of Moses (peace be upon Him).

Pharaoh considered that his courtiers were saying correct. He determined that miracles of Moses (peace be upon Him) are nothing but an illusion. Ignorance and stupidity of Pharaoh and his people did not let them reach the depth of this matter. Any persistent can do nothing except determination of defeating the opposite and bigotry of his thought. These are manners of own destruction.
