We verily could have fixed them in their place, making them powerless to go

Commentary
It is commanded: We have bestowed body parts and health to these
people but they do neither reap advantage and nor take those works from them which
may be useful for them in future and by means of which they may attain Paradise
in the Hereafter. They had to know Allaah Almighty by their sense,
praise Him and toil hard with their hands and feet for complying with His
Commands. Do they not know that if We will, We can snatch their eyesight and
they cannot find their way whether they try their best?
Like this, We can make them cripple and deform also (paralyzing them
in their places) so that they may not be able to proceed anywhere. They should value
that health and strength which We have bestowed to them and take such work from
these blessings for which We have bidden to do. Do they not meditate that when
a mankind becomes old, he becomes weak gradually like children, his face begins
to wither, his vision gives up working, walking and moving becomes difficult
for him? Do they not use their sense for understanding that they should perform
more and more good works for pleasing their Creator as soon as possible before
becoming feeble?
