Quran Chapter 15  87 & 88 (Pt-14, Stg-3) (L-1683) درس قرآن

Behavior with Believers

Surah ‘Al-Hijr - (The Rocky Tract) - 15

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

87.  We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur’aan.

88.  Strain not thine eyes (wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them, and lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the Believers.
87.  Wa  laqad  ‘aatay-Naaka  Sab-‘am-minal-masaanii  wal-Qur-‘aanal-‘Aziim.

88.  Laa  tamuddanna  ‘ay-nayka  ‘ilaa  maa  matta’-Naa  bihiii  ‘az-waajam-minhum  wa  laa  tahzan  ‘alayhim  wakhfiz  janaahaka  lil-Mu’-miniin.

Commentary

Masaanii – (the things which are read (recited) again and again). This word is plural of mas-naa, origin of which is sa-na-ya. San-yun means – to repeat. Mas-naa means – that which is doubled. The aim from Saba’-masaanii is (seven verses of) Suratul-Faatihah (First Chapter of Holy Qur’aan), which is recited in prayers again and again and which is the best supplication. It should be recited every time.

Laa  tamuddanna – (Do not strain!), it is an efficacious negative from the word madd. Madd means “to view, to strain, to stretch, to expand”. ‘Ay-nayka – (your both eyes). The aim from the words “Laa  tamuddanna  ‘ay-nayka” is “you should not look at”.

‘Az-waajun – (certain classes), it is plural of zawj, which means “a couple”, that is to say, two things; one of which is opposite to the other and those both are a joint of each other.

‘Ikhfiz  janaahaka  – (lower your wing). The word ‘ikhfiz has been derived from khafzun, which means “to cause to bend downward, to bow”. The aim from “lower your wing” is “to behave with softness”.

It is commanded: We have bestowed on you Blessing like “Suratul-Faatihah” (Chapter – The Opening) and the entire Holy Qur’aan. These are the best things for reciting. As soon as you will recite them, you will know that opposite behavior and enmity of the disbelievers is noting. For your help, Omnipotent and Most Powerful Master of the masters exists. After it, there is neither any need for you to suffer due to them, and nor there remains any importance of those worldly transitory goods; which have been given to certain people of them. You should treat them with kind and grace who have believed, and ignore them who are disbelievers. Divine Wrath will seize them naturally.
