Quran Chapter 24: 27 (Pt-18, Stg-4) (L-2215) درس قرآن

Invoking peace upon the folk you wish to see

Chapter Nuur” – (Light) - 24

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

27.  O ye who believe! Enter not houses other than your own without first announcing your presence and invoking peace upon the folk thereof. That is better for you, that ye may be heedful.
27.  Yaaa-‘ayyu-hallaziina  ‘aa-manuu  laa  tadkhuluu  buyuutan  gayra  buyuutikum  hattaa  tasta’-nisuu  wa  tusallimuu  ‘alaaa  ‘ahlihaa.  Zaalikum  khayrul-lakum  la-‘allakum  tazakkaruun.

Commentary

Tasta’-nisuu – (Announce first your presence!, Ask permission!), origin of this word is ‘istiinaas, which has been derived from the word “‘uns”. ‘Uns means “to meet someone, to talk with”. The words “maanuus, ‘aniis, ‘unsat” have come out from the same. ‘Istiinaas means “to call for meeting”. Here it aims “to wish permission of meeting”.

Which way should human beings choose for mutual friendly intercourse, by which none of them feel any trouble and nor any of them think wrong in any matter? It is the problem in which several people have been erring. Holy Qur’an teaches to dwell in the world in such a way that mischief and disturbance do not spread but the door of indecency is closed.

First thing which is compulsory for the mankind, is that no one should enter in any other’s house without their permission. Before entering he should ask for permission, the best way of which is that from the outside of the door, he should say loudly: ‘Assalaamu  ‘alaykum  ‘ahlal- bayti (Peace with you O the people of the house). And it should be said when he reaches in front but standing on any side of the door, because it is possible that the door is opened and his sight sees any such thing, looking of which was not suitable for him.

There is betterment for you in this way. It is being explained for the purpose that you should care always for it. The door of evil thoughts is closed in it, because there is fear of great badness due to looking improper. Therefore you should leave that path which leads to any straying place.
