Lesson

There was mention in the previous verse about those people who bring forward false excuses and make untrue impostures. In this verse; it is commanded about such people; whose excuses are acceptable. Those excuses are – weakness, illness, poverty and besides this, there is one more excuse, which will be discussed in the next lesson.

It is commanded that women, children and old people are exempted due to their weakness and debility. If they do not participate in the battle, there is no objection. Like this, such people; who are sick and unable to bear physical labor, they are granted permission also. The poor people can be kept excusable too because; for the journey; there is a need of provision for the journey and weapons and equipment for the battle. Participation in war without these things is just like putting oneself in danger.

If these three kinds of people do not partake in war; then their excuses can be accepted. Verily they are unserviceable but the condition is that; they are in favor of the Muslims, and encourage them with moral support. They should persuade the healthy and rich people for participation in the Battle. They should not let disclosed by their word and work, any such matter, due to which others lose their spirit. They should prove by their conversation that they are sincere and good, and support the Muslims in all sorts; which are in their power at this stage.

Such people, who prove at their every step that they are good, are unaccountable from all charges. These entire people are included in the category of magnificent people, and a good person cannot be blamed. Their normal errors and mistakes, which are committed due to natural tendencies of being a human, will be forgiven by Allah Almighty because He is Forgiving, Merciful.
