Introductory note on “Furqaan”
Chapter “Furqaan”- {The Criterion (of Right and
Wrong)} - 25
‘A-‘uu-zu Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah
from Satan the outcast)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)
According to the order of Chapters, this is twenty fifth Surah,
which was revealed during middle times (of Apostleship) of the Messenger’s stay
at Makkah (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). Furqaan
means “Criterion (Standard of Judging that what is right and what is wrong). It
has been described in this Chapter that Rightful Deity is Allaah
Almighty and worshiping any other than Him is mere cheating. Allaah
Almighty (God) is only One, and meditating in strange arrangements of the creature
is sufficient for knowing Him. The people, who do not reflect, go astray.
Muhammad, the last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)
has been sent along with Holy Qur’an for warning them. He (grace, glory,
blessings and peace be upon him) has come to frighten them from the
consequences of infidelity and ascribing plurality to Allaah Almighty.
His good natures, unselfishness and good manners are open tokens of being his
Prophet-hood. He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) will cause to
hear the people; verses of Holy Qur’an, in which the lesson of God’s
Oneness has been taught, vice of belief in a plurality of Allaah
Almighty has been described and it has been urged that they should believe in
the Day of Resurrection.
On the Day of General Resurrection, Allaah’s disbelievers
will be thrown into the Hell. They will lose their senses when they will see
its terrible form. No one will be able to have them released from its torment.
Their false gods will reprove them. Neither the bribe will be useful there and
nor they will find any helper.
Contrary to them, the good people; slaves and believers of Allaah
Almighty will be entered into the Gardens. At that time, the Infidels will be
afflicted severely that “God grant! If we had obeyed the Sayings of the
Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), we would have been
saved from painful doom. The Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be
upon him) will give evidence against them that he caused to understand them
very much but they did not admit and remained busy in their personal works by
putting the Holy Qur’an behind. They tried to produce doubts in this
Holy Scripture.
After that, the attention has been drawn towards circumstances
of those nations which falsified the Prophets (peace be upon them) of their
times, failed in the world and deserved the punishment of the Doomsday. Then
open signs concerning knowing Allaah Almighty in the world have been
described and it has been instructed to the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings
and peace be upon him) that he should keep turning his attention only to Allaah
Almighty. If these people do not believe in Him and do not inflict Him as “The
Beneficent”, then they will be punished.
In the last Section, habits and natures of true Muslims have
been explained, and it has been described that certainly they will be punished
who will not believe in Allaah Almighty.
