Is Messenger other than a mortal like you?
Chapter “The
Prophets” – (Suratul – ‘Ambiyaaa’
- 21)
‘A-‘uu-zu Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir-
Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)
Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

لَاهِيَةً قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّجْوَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ هَلْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّابَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ أَفَتَأْتُونَ ٱلسِّحْرَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ 3
قَالَ رَبِّى يَعْلَمُ ٱلْقَوْلَ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَهُوَٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ 4

3b. And they confer in
secret (against you) saying: Is this other than a mortal like you? Will ye
then succumb to magic when ye see (it)?
4. He saith: My Lord
knoweth what is spoken in the heaven and the earth. And He is the Hearer, the
Knower.

3b. Wa ‘asarrun-naj-wallaziina zalamuu
hal haazaaa ‘illaa
basharum- mislukum.
‘Afa-ta’-tuunas-sihra wa ‘antum
tubsi-ruun.
4. Qaala Rabbii
ya’-lamul-Qawla
fis-samaaa-‘i wal-‘arz. Wa
Huwas-Samii-‘ul-‘Aliim.

Commentary
The people to whom Holy
Qur’an was caused to hear, they were astonished with wonder from its
language and way of explaining. It came out from the mouth of those who were
well-versed of language than others; after listening to the verses of Qur’an:
This cannot be the Speech of any human being. But when they saw who were
perverse and stubborn that this Word captivates the heart of the hearer, they
feared that their group would be broken. So they began to say to the people:
Don’t hear this Word. Condition of such obstinate people has been described in
this verse.
It is commanded that those
obstinate and unjust people established a secret conference and caused to
understand the people quietly: The Person {Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings
and peace be upon him)} who causes to hear you a new Word, he is also a man like
you. That is power of magic which impression is in this Word. Will you go
intentionally unto a magician; so that he may attract your attention by the
impression of his Word and make you own disciples. An intelligent person cannot
do so. He will escape even from His shadow.
When the Messenger of Allaah
Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) heard this News of the
secret conference, He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) said: Allaah
Almighty is Aware of all such secret meetings. He knows the entire whatsoever
happens in the heavens and in the earth. He hears everything and knows
everything. Therefore, Behold! He has disclosed your Secret.
