Much the disbelievers are averse -1

Lesson # 1067 from Holy Qur-’aan

Much the disbelievers are averse -1

Surah ‘TAWBAH or BARAAA-‘AH (REPENTANCE) – Chapter – 9)
Stage – 2, Verse – 32 of 129, Section – 5 of 16 (Part – 10)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

32.  They desire to put out the Light of Allah with their mouths, and Allah will not allow it save to perfect His Light, however much the disbelievers are averse.
32.  Yurii-duuna  ‘any-yutfi-‘uu  NuurAllaahi  bi-‘afwaa-hihim  wa  ya’-bAllaahu  ‘illaaa  ‘any-yutimma  Nuura-Huu  wa  law  karihal-Kaafiruun.

Lesson

‘Any-yutfi-‘uu – (they put out), the origin of this word is ‘it-faa-‘un. It means “to put out the fire or light, to extinguish”. One more word has been derived from the same, which is tafuu-‘un. It means “to be extinguished, to fall dim”.

Ya’-baa – {(He) will not allow}, its origin is ‘abaa-‘un, which means “to refuse from obeying someone’s saying, to reject any other’s proposal or opinion by resisting or arguments”. The Devil (Satan) did not obey the Command of God Almighty, so, about him, the word ‘abaa has come in Surah ‘Al-Baqarah.

At the end of the last Section, for the Muslims, a law of fighting against the people of the Scripture belonged to Arab, was prescribed. Before it, the Muslims were commanded to fight against the Idolaters of Makkah only that until the disturbance and its causes are not annihilated entirely, and the human behavior is not purified from selfishness and thoughts of personal benefits, they should fight against the infidels. If they do not accept, then the Muslims should drive them out from the Arab, because without accepting that “God is the Greatest” getting rid of selfishness and thoughts of personal benefits is not possible.

Therefore it was commanded: Continue fighting against them till the time; the Religion does not be purely for Allah Almighty. If the Idolaters turn away from this panacea, before which, the disease of selfishness cannot stay, then drive them out from the territory.

It was not hoped that the people of the Scripture will cooperate with the Idolaters, and having belief in God and the Day of Judgment, they will get ready to remove the Religion of Truth. Therefore, such condition was imposed for their living in the Arab that they should be obedient of the Muslims. But those haughty people did not refrain from their villainy.

Therefore, after that, they were also driven out from the Arab. Not only they denied the Religion of Truth but desired to finish it. Main reason of it is that the plurality has been in force into them too. They consider that their rabbis and monks are equal to God Almighty, and they say openly with their mouths: These great people have been empowered by God in the management of the world and they are independent. Everyone should ask them for whatever one wants.
