Commentary
Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) has been reproving to his
father and the people of his folk: What has happened with you that you have made
your adored to the idols of the stone, which have been fabricated by your own
hands and you have formed them in accordance with your desire. Can these
imaginary and self-made idols be able instead of Allaah Almighty that mankind
become admirer of them? It is the utmost limit of stupidity. Can you tell that
what did you consider the Lord of the entire Worlds? Do you not fear Him that
He shall take severe revenge of this presumption from you and destroy you along
with evil of your idols?
Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) caused to understand them
many days, but they did not hear attentively. Meanwhile, the days of their Fair
Ceremony reached, which they all had to celebrate collectively; out of their
Township. Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) took a glance at the stars before
them and said: I feel that I have been going to be sick. They considered that
he would have known about his future condition from the movements of the stars.
When they got ready to attend the Fair ceremony, they compelled to bring Abraham
(peace be upon him) along with themselves. When he refused, they all turned
their backs on him, and went away for celebrating the Fair ceremony.
