Apparent and unapparent blessings

Chapter LUQMAAN”- (LUQMAN) - 31

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

20.  See ye not how Allah hath made subservient to you whatsoever is in the heaven and whatsoever is in the earth and hath loaded you with His favours both without and within? And yet of mankind is he who disputeth concerning Allah, without knowledge or guidance or a Luminous Scripture.
20.  ‘Alam  taraw  ‘annAllaaha  sakh-khara  lakum-maa  fis-samaawaati  wa  maa  fil-‘arzi  wa  ‘asbaga  ‘alaykum  Ni-‘amaHuu  zaahiratanw-wa  baatinah.  Wa  minannaasi  many-yujaadilu  Fillaahi  bi-gayri  ‘ilminw-wa  laa  hudanw-wa  laa  Kitaabim-Muniir.

Commentary

‘Asbaga – (loaded, bestowed amply, spread), it is past tense from the word ‘isbaag, origin of which is sabuug. Sabuug means “to spread, to be completed, fulfilled). ‘asbaga means “gave in full scale”.

Hudan – (guidance), it aims “to show the right path and guide”. Hudaa means “natural demand”.

While besides the Prophets (peace be upon them), the wise people also concluded that there is no one other in the world save Allaah Almighty that He should be adored, and He is Alone in Himself and His Attributes, then why these people ascribe plurality and associate others with Him. Is knowing Allaah Almighty too much difficult?

It is commanded: Do they not see that Allaah Almighty has made subject to them entire things in the heavens and entire things in the earth, which support the mankind in all matters? He has amply bestowed upon human beings His favors, both apparent and unapparent, from which they reap advantages, but do not think that of Whose kindness is result of this all? Apparent favors are those, by which requirements (like food and drinking, dwelling place and drawing in the breath etc.) of mankind are fulfilled. Unapparent favors are - sense, thinking, understanding and consequence-seeing etc. Allaah Almighty has arranged all of such things for the mankind. It is very wonderful and alas that these people understand everything but do not admit, whereas there is neither any rational or natural proof and nor any traditional deed, which they may produce in corroboration of their claim.
