43a.   Hast thou not seen how Allah wafteth the clouds, then gathereth them, then maketh them layers, and thou seest the rain come forth from between them;
43a.  ‘Alam  tara  ‘annAllaaha  yuzjii  sahaaban  summa  yu-‘allifu  baynahuu  summa  yaj-‘aluhuu  rukaaman  fataral-wadqa  yakhruju  min  khilaalih.

Commentary

Yuzjii – {(He) wafts, drives (clouds)}, this word has been derived from ‘izjaa-‘un, which means “to convey smoothly through water or air”.

Rukaamun – (plait by plait), it is an Adjective, origin of which is rakama. It means: to pile one upon another.

Wadqa – (rain), another word Matar (in Arabic language) is used also for the same purpose.

Khilaalun  – (central places), this word is plural of khalalun, which means “the place in between”.

The mankind cannot gain his end without admitting Allaah Almighty after comprehending Him. Without belief in Him, his any work cannot be cause of his success. If that work is good, it will be useful in this world for a few days. But no reward of it will be given to him after death. And if that work is bad then it will spread over his heart and mind by becoming darkness. And the great heap of those darknesses will drown him in the sea of darkness.

Portents of the Divine Power of Allaah Almighty are in abundance in the entire world. Many of them have been described in the previous verses. In this verse, the attention has been drawn toward an obvious Sign. Every individual would have seen Raining. Have the people ever think that what arrangements are made for this purpose? The clouds are gathered from all around by enclosing and then those are mixed up together. Then those are laid down plait by plait upon one another. Then you see that it begins to rain. Did you ever think that why it happens and Who is behind this all?

Behold! These are the works of Allaah Almighty. The clouds gather at one place by His Command and mix up mutually. Then it becomes cloudiness and drops of water begin to fall. And then it begins to rain in torrents.
