Commentary
Yata-waffaa (He causes to die). This word is
from ta-waffaa, which has been
derived from wafaat. Wafaat means “the
extinction of life, death, demise”. Tawaffaa
means “to rise to the situation, to take over, to collect in full, to finish,
causing to die”. It aims “to finish the worldly life of the mankind”.
God Almighty
commands to His Messenger (grace, glory, blessing and peace be upon him) that
He should say to the people: I don’t worship your self-invented deities (gods).
I worship only One God; Allah, The Most High Who is Omnipotent, and everyone is
helpless before Him. He gives life to whom He desires, then by finishing his
life He picks him up from the world. Life and death are under His control. If
you think for awhile in it, it will become compulsory for you to accept it. And
helplessness of remaining things will be manifest before you like a shining
day. And there will be no expedient save it that you should not believe in any
other except Him. He (God) is your Rightful Worshipped. In the next verse,
method of acquiring strong belief has been described.
By
meditating in the verses of this Section, reality of Islam becomes obvious
entirely. First step of entering in Islam is declaration of disgust from the
gods; made by human hands. Those all deities are only imaginary pictures of
mankind’s selfishness. He (human being) considers: I am all in all, therefore,
my deity will be that whom shall I say my worshipped.
It has been
described in the verse: It’s wrong. But your Worshipped is That Who will cause
you to die when you time will be over. Second step is that you should prostrate before
Him only and then; the entire life; should remain engaged in perfection of your
Faith, so that your end should be happy.
