Lesson # 708 From Holy Qur’aan
Making all the
people Believers is not intended
Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle)
– Chapter – 6)–Stage - 2
Verse
– 35 of 165, Section – 4 of 20 (Part - 7)
BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
|
And if their aversion is grievous unto
Thee, then, if Thou canst, seek a way down into the earth or a ladder unto
the sky that Thou mayst bring unto them a portent (to convince them all)! And
if Allaah had willed, He would have
brought them all together to the guidance- so be not Thou among the foolish
ones.

Wa ‘in
kaana kabura ‘alayKa
‘i’-raazuhum
fa-‘inistata’-ta
‘an-tabta-iya nafaqan fil-‘arzi
‘aw sulla-man- fis-samaaa-‘i fata’-ti-yahum- bi-‘Aayah.
Wa law shaaa-‘Allaahu lajama-‘ahum ‘alal-hudaa
falaa takuu-nanna minal- Jaahiliin.

Lesson
The Messenger of Allaah Almighty was satisfied in the
verse of previous lesson: If these people consider You (grace, glory, blessings
and peace be upon Him) a liar, then it means that they neglect the Revelations
of Allaah Almighty, whereas He had revealed
the verses of Holy Qur’aan and showed
them Signs of His Divine Power in the world also for the purpose that the
people may recognize Allaah Almighty
by thinking into them deeply and obey His Commands. Allaah Almighty has set this method for guidance of the human being
in this world that He has prescribed symbols and tokens of the straight path,
and giving the sense to the human being, set him free, so that observing these
signs and symbols, he would recognize and adopt the right path himself. If he will
not go straight forward, then Allaah Almighty
will punish him for going astray.
All the Prophets and Messengers (peace
be upon Them) had been patient on the disobedience and Allaah Almighty helped Them. The Infidels used to say: Why the Messenger
(grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) do not have any such token, by observing
which, the humankind would be compelled to believe and may not be able to deny?
The lesson in this verse is that in such manner, making all of them believers is
not intended.
It is commanded that You (grace,
glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) are unpleasant due to their turning
away and disbelieving in the truth. And You (grace, glory, blessings and peace
be upon Him) want to seek any such thing for their guidance from either inside
the earth or from above the skies, before which they bow their heads and all of
them believe. It is possible but it is against the prescribed rules of Allaah Almighty.
If Allaah Almighty wished, He was able to make the entire humankind believers,
as none could go astray, that is to say; there would have been only one way
i.e. the straight path. So, O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be
upon Him)! Keep this rule secret and understand it thoroughly that it is not the
purpose to make everyone Believer by force. Your (grace, glory, blessings and
peace be upon Him) only duty is to admonish them, whether anyone obeys it or
not.
Think not to seek a way down into
the earth or a ladder unto the sky that Thou mayst bring unto them a portent to
convince them all. And if Allaah had
willed, He would have brought them all together to the guidance. “We just have
to see that who adopts the right path with own common sense”.
