Love Of The Beautiful Things

LESSON # 334 FROM HOLY  QUR’AN
Love Of The Beautiful Things

Surah ‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter - 3)
Verse – 14  of  200, Section –2    (Part – 3)

Beautified for mankind is love of the joys (that come) from women and offspring; and stored-up heaps of gold and silver, and horses branded (with their mark), and cattle and land. That is provision of the life of the world. And Allah! With Him is a more excellent abode.
Zuyyina  linnaasi  hubbush-shahawaati  minan-nisaaa-‘i  wal-baniina  wal-qanaatiiril- muqan-tarati  minazzahabi  wal-fizzati  wal-khay-lil- musawwamati  wal-‘an-‘aami  wal-hars.  Zaalika  mataa-‘ul-hayyatid-dunyaa.  Wallaahu  ‘indahuu  husnul-ma-‘aab.

Lesson

Zuyyina  linnaasi(beautified for the humankind), it has been told in this verse that love, inclination and attraction of these things is a natural matter and in itself there is no sin. However, advantage from these things should be reaped remaining in the subjection of the orders of Divine and their love should be kept limited in the lawful limits.

hubbush-shahawaati(love of the joys), shahawaat signifies here towards desirable and pleasant things. In this manner it means “Wishes and desires”.

mataa-‘ul-hayyatid-dunyaa(provision of the life of the world), it intends that all these types of things are not able to be amused very much. These should not be formed as purpose of life. These are useful only in this world. The world is transitory and its all arrangements are mortal also.

Allah Almighty has affirmed that some worldly things have attraction from His Side naturally for the human being. Humankind likes these things very much. But many people involve themselves in them so much that they forget their Creator, their Lord. There is no sin in itself to value these things. These are compulsory things for living in the world. It is not bad to reap benefit from them but care is necessary that inclination towards them should not be more than necessity. Because doing so the human being will become overjoyed into them. Slowly he will consider them purpose of life and forget his goal. He will miss the right path.

It should be borne in mind that these things are transitory. These are useful only in the world. Relationship with them will cut immediately after death. Therefore, one should arrange also for the Day of Resurrection keeping them at their correct place. Real Abode is there (after death) and permanence is for that life.
