The Christians say also that Jesus is the son of God

Lesson # 1065 from Holy Qur’aan

The Christians say also that Jesus is the son of God

Surah ‘TAWBAH or BARAAA-‘AH (REPENTANCE) – Chapter – 9)
Stage – 2, Verse – 30 of 129, Section – 5 of 16 (Part – 10)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

30.  And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah. That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the saying of those who disbelieved of old. May Allah destroy them. How perverse are they!
30.  Wa  qaa-latil-Yahuudu  ‘Uzayru-nib-nUllaahi  wa  qaalatin-Nasaaral-Masiihub-nUllaah.  Zaalika  qaw-luhum  bi-‘afwaa-hihim.  Yuzaahi-‘uuna  qaw-lalla-ziina  kafaruu  min- qabl.  Qaatala-humUllaah.  ‘Annaa  yu’-fakuun.

Lesson

Yuzaahi-‘uuna – (they imitate), the origin of this word is muzaahaatun, which is from Zahii. Zahii means “to be alike of someone”. Muzaahaatun means “to make alike, to copy, to compete with”.

It is commanded that the Jews caused to ascend a mankind, whose name was Ezra (peace be upon Him), so much that they began to say him “the son of God” (Let us flee to God). There is no doubt in it that they were outstretched in knowledge during those  days, and their honor and respect were not inaccurate up to a reasonable range, but saying someone “the son of God” is very rude way to honor.

From it, dishonor of God is obvious (God forbid). Concept of God Almighty demands that He should be Exalted, Solitary, the Owner of all the Power and Pure from being son or father of anyone. It appeared from their belief that they do not have faith in God Almighty as it is required.

The Christians were also taken in the same (deception). And they began to say Jesus Messiah (peace be upon Him) – the son of God. These things are as of the disbelievers, and have been coming down since long before them in Romans, Grecian and other unbelievers. And these people have begun the same in their imitation. May God destroy them. How perverse are they?

One acquaintance of the Religion of Truth is known from this verse that no humankind or his apparent or ideal idol can ever be exalted too much, during his life or after death, that he becomes partner or co-sharer in the Sovereignty of Allah Almighty and His specified Attributes.

Second recognizance of the Religion of Truth is that it strengthens to have belief in the Day of Judgment, and it is the necessary result of believing in the Omnipotence of God; that He is empower to give life again; after death and questioning about every human being’s deeds.

They do not forbid that which God has forbidden -2

Lesson # 1064 from Holy Qur’aan

They do not forbid that which God has forbidden -2

Surah ‘TAWBAH or BARAAA-‘AH (REPENTANCE) – Chapter – 9)
Stage – 2, Verse – 29 of 129, Section – 4 of 16 (Part – 10)

Lesson
(Continued from the last post)

But many of them were inclined to fight against Muslims and to stop Islam, and they disgraced the Muslims, and by collecting their people; they excited them to attack on Muslims and finish them. Certainly, it became necessary for the Muslims to save themselves from their attack. A general order has been given in this verse for such people.

It is commanded: Fight against those people without any hesitation who pursue to destroy Islam, because Islam desires only to deliver its message of peace to the entire people of the world. It trusts in natural freedom of the human being, demand of which is that every individual must be entitled to have a claim upon choosing his own way by using own brain.

Islam teaches the same that you should believe in one God (Allah), have faith in the Day of Judgment and stop committing those acts which are forbidden by Allah Almighty. His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) has explained all such matters. Which things have been prescribed as lawful and legal according to the commands of God Almighty, you should adopt them. And abstain from those matters which are unlawful.

Those people who want to prevent the public forcibly from hearing, they are human criminals and their way is wrong, because the Right Path is “the Religion of Truth”. Every human being is free in Belief and deeds, on the condition that the disturbance is not created from it and peace of public is not interfered. And everyone has freedom that he may cause to understand others easily those matters which are correct according to him. But he should neither compel any individual with force to accept that what he says, and nor make any other; his concordant by seducing or alluring of wealth and money.

Those people who do not admit the Religion of Truth i.e. this principle of freedom, they are guilty of human court. If they get ready to fight against you, then it is your duty that you should ruin them to the best of your abilities, so that tyranny, violence, oppression and every kind of interference are stopped. And if the Religion of Humanity, principles of which are Freedom of Conscience, Peace and Order, friendly intercourse, correction and rectification are not accepted anywhere, then fight against them, till the time they do not accept completely these principles.

Wherever you get success on such vicious people who quarrel with you due to stubbornness and enmity, and you have to establish an administrative empire, then you should manage the system on this principle that the rebellious people are kept under full pressure and they should be really obedient. After that, you are permitted to get cash from them as retaliation of their safety and they should live in your influence, so that peace and safety of the world is not interrupted.

It is clear that these commands are against those people who wish to remove human accepted independence and want to make and keep the people their obedient and slaves.

The Muslims are not allowed to fight against those people who did not announce their enmity against them, and being agreed to the principle of freedom, they got ready to live together with Muslims. Moreover, after living with peace and paying the tribute by them for their safety, the Muslims will be protectors of their wealth, lives and females. And if any other will attack over them, the Muslims will defend them.

They do not forbid that which God has forbidden -1

Lesson # 1063 from Holy Qur’aan

They do not forbid that which God has forbidden -1

Surah ‘TAWBAH or BARAAA-‘AH (REPENTANCE) – Chapter – 9)
Stage – 2, Verse – 29 of 129, Section – 4 of 16 (Part – 10)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

29.  Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture as believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, and forbid not that which Allah hath forbidden by His Messenger, and follow not the Religion of Truth, until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low.
29.  Qaatilul-laziina  laa yu’-minuuna  BIllaahi  wa  laa  bil-yawmil-‘Aakhiri  wa  laa  yuharri-muuna  maa  harra-mAllaahu  wa  Rasuu-luHuu  wa  laa  yadii-nuuna  Diinal-Haqqi  minal-laziina  ‘uutul-Kitaaba  hattaa  yu’-tul-Jizyata  ‘any-yadinw-wa  hum  saagiruun.

Lesson

Laa  yadii-nuuna – (they do not follow), it is the tense of the aorist which has been derived from the word “diin”. Diin means – a prescribed way, the same is origin too which means “to follow the prescribed method. From it, the word laa  yadii-nuuna has been made. Laa means “not” and yadii-nuuna means “they follow (a prescribed way)”. It aims that they do not adopt the Religion of Truth.

Jizyatun – it is a noun and called for such wealth, by paying which a non-Muslim can live under the safety of the Muslims, and the Muslims are responsible for his protection.

When Messenger of God Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) proclaimed about Islam, at that time, there were generally three kinds of people in the Arab: openly Idolaters, the Jews and the Christians. Some people of them embraced Islam, whereas other all people opposed this new Religion.

God’s Last Messenger, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) caused to understand them: Don’t accept this Religion if you don’t desire. However, you must not try to prevent other people. But they did not accept it. At last, the Muslims were forced to make their own organization separately. They fought against their enemies and conquered them.

They were commanded: The Idolaters are very severe offenders. They are given time for four months. After that stipulated period, they should flee from the Peninsula of Arab, otherwise, wherever will they be found, will be slain. The Jews and the Christians had cooperated with the Idolaters, but comparatively they were less guilty, therefore, it was commanded: Fight them and keep them overpowered, so that they may not create any disturbance. Then if they wish to live under your collector-ship, they should live being obedient. Their lives and wealth will be protected, and no national service will be taken from them, provided; they pay the tribute in sign of dependence, which will be considered as retaliation of their safety. And their grade will be low than the Muslims’, because they also left no stone un-turned in enmity with the Believers. If they do not accept this condition then they should flee from the Arab. This command was given for the Idolaters of the Peninsula of Arab due to the Jews and the Christians.

Let Idolaters not come near the Square Building at Makkah -2

Lesson # 1062 from Holy Qur’aan

Let Idolaters not come near the Square Building at Makkah -2

Surah ‘TAWBAH or BARAAA-‘AH (REPENTANCE) – Chapter – 9)
Stage – 2, Verse – 28 of 129, Section – 4 of 16 (Part – 10)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Lesson

It has come in Ahaadith (Sayings of the Messenger – grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) that Omar, the second Caliph (may God be pleased with him) purified and cleaned the Peninsula of Arab from the Idolaters according to a last Will and Command of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). Now, it is not lawful for the Muslims to give living permission to them in the Arab. The Sunnis (Hanafi Rules) give them some permission that, a Muslim spiritual guide can permit them to live temporarily if he considers it suitable. Other religious directors do not permit even for only it.

Next, it is commanded: If you fear that your business and commerce will take bad effect; if the Idolaters flew away, and the commodities of necessity will be deficient, then you should drive this thinking out of your hearts, because the actual thing is comfort, ease and satisfaction, and it cannot be obtained during their presence. God Almighty will make the provision of the necessities of life easy, and if He desire, will give you so much that you will become fearless from their support. Be satisfied that God Almighty knows very well about all these matters by which a mankind acquires riches and sufficiency. And He is Aware of it also that which suitable time can be for performing any particular work. Therefore as He is Knower, He is Wise too. You should also be ready to obey His commands by giving your all works in His charge unhesitatingly. He will correct your all works when the correct time will come according to His Knowledge and Philosophy.

Selfishness and enmity with others; without any proper reason destroys the human being. Those; who are crazed to make other people their slaves, and to feed only own people; certainly, they have been excluded from the humanity. Their mind is impure and unclean. Therefore, when it was experienced by the Muslims that the Idolaters of Makkah, whom the Jews and the Christians have joined, they will not let them prosper, then they were commanded: Let these mischievous disbelievers not come near the Inviolable Place of Worship only but drive them out of the entire Peninsula of Arab, so that you may get opportunity; at first to moderate yourselves and then correct all the people of the world without let or hindrance, and you may prepare yourselves for this work.

Obviously, if the Idolaters of Arab, the Jews and the Christians desired to live with the Muslims together, then the circumstances of this case would not be as such. Their hearts would have been purified if they had given up enmity and stubbornness, and they would have lived with the Muslims mutually by making treaties of peace and safety. But somehow those people did not accept it. Therefore, such severe commands were issued and the Muslims were instructed to arrange for them a separate place for living. The command regarding the Idolaters has been described in this verse. In the next verse, instructions for the Jews and the Christians will be explained.

Let the Idolaters not come near the Square Building at Makkah

Lesson # 1061 from Holy Qur’aan

Let the Idolaters not come near the Square Building at Makkah

Surah ‘TAWBAH or BARAAA-‘AH (REPENTANCE) – Chapter – 9)
Stage – 2, Verse – 28 of 129, Section – 4 of 16 (Part – 10)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

28.  O ye who believe! The Idolaters only are unclean, so let them not come near the Inviolable Place of Worship after this their year. And if ye fear poverty (from the loss of their merchandise) Allah shall preserve you of His Bounty if He will. Lo! Allah is Knower, Wise.
28.  Yaaa-‘ayyu-hallaziina  ‘aamanuuu  ‘innamal-Mushri-kuuna  najasun-  falaa  yaq-rabul-Masjidal-Haraama  ba’-da  ‘aamihim  haazaa.  Wa  ‘in  khiftum  ‘aylatan  fa-sawfa  yugnii-kumUllaahu  min-  fazliHiii  ‘in  shaaa’.  ‘InnAllaaha  ‘Aliimun  Hakiim.

Lesson

Najasun – (unclean), it is a tense of adjective from n-j-s, origin of which is najaasata. Najaasata means dirtiness, filth, impurity, to be licentious.

‘Aylatun – (poverty, the vocation of a beggar, hunger, want, indigence, need, and it is also used for the poor and needy. A word “‘ayaal” has been derived from it too. Those all people who depend on an individual for their provisions, and fulfilling their necessities, are called his ‘Ayaal. Such individual remains poor usually. In Arabic language, such person is called ‘Aayl, who is responsible to look after and feed many people, and due to this reason he lives in poverty.

When Infidels of Makkah disclosed; in the beginning by their character and behavior, that as far as possible they will not let the Muslims live, then the Muslims were disappointed from living with them together. After the Conquest of Makkah during 9th AH, it was proclaimed at the occasion of Hajj (Pilgrimage), that admission of Idolaters in the Inviolable Place of Worship at Makkah (Masjidal-Haraam) is forbidden for future. Only Muslims can enter in this Sacred Place.

The Idolaters disclosed their enmity with the Muslims and that their hearts were full of malice, envy and hostility against the Believers without any proper reason. These are such things which destroy the purity of the heart, because those have enmity against the belief and politeness. And in the world, only these both things exist which can purify the mankind and make him clean. Therefore, the Muslims are instructed that they should not let the Idolaters and those, who have evil spirit and bad thoughts, go near Inviolable Place of Worship (the Square Building at Makkah).

After that when it was observed that “the Muslims cannot organize themselves; when they are living with the wrongdoers”, then it was commanded that they should drive out the Idolaters from the entire Arabian territory.

God sent down hosts ye could not see

Lesson # 1060 from Holy Qur’aan

God sent down hosts ye could not see

Surah ‘TAWBAH or BARAAA-‘AH (REPENTANCE) – Chapter – 9)
Stage – 2, Verses – 26 & 27 of 129, Section – 4 of 16 (Part – 10)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

26.  Then Allah sent His peace of reassurance down upon His Messenger and upon the Believers, and sent down hosts ye could not see, and punished those who disbelieved. And such is the reward of disbelievers.

27.  Then afterward Allah will relent toward whom He will. And Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
26.  Summa  ‘anza-lAllaahu  sakiina-tahuu  ‘alaa  RasuuliHii  wa  ‘alal-Mu’-miniina  wa  ‘an-zala  junuudal-lam-  tarawhaa-  wa  ‘azza-ballaziina  kafaruu.  Wa  zaalika  jazaaa-‘ul-kaafiriin.

27.  Summa  yatuu-bUllaahu  mim-ba’-di  zaalika  many-yashaaa’.  WAllaahu  Gafuurur-Rahiim.

Lesson

Sakiina-tah – (satisfaction, peace of reassurance), this word has been made of s-k-n, from which the words sakuun, saakin, maskan etc. have been derived. This word was discussed in Surah ‘Al-Baqarah. Maskan means “place of stay”. Sakiina – the thing with which commotion of the heart sets out and one feels satisfaction.

After the Battle of Uhud, Hunayn was second occasion that the Infidels besieged the Messenger of God Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). At that time, four thousand Infidels, girded on enmity, had surrounded Him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). Maximum Muslims had been dispersed being confused by Infidels’ archery. Only a few men had been remained with the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), out of which, there were His paternal uncle named Abbas and sons of His other uncle Abu Sufyan (may God be pleased with them). The arrows were raining from all around. But the heart of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was absolutely fearless. Allah Almighty had strengthened His heart. Later on, Abbas (may God be pleased with him) called out aloud to the Muslims: Where do you go? Come to this side. As soon as the Muslims heard his voice, they came running recklessly. And God Almighty produced peace of reassurance and comfort in their hearts.

It is commanded that the Muslims continued running for some time in the condition of much confusion. But eventually, that satisfaction of the heart, which was in the heart of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), penetrated into their hearts also. Allah Almighty sent down hidden forces for their help in the form of Angels (peace be upon them) which were not seen by their eyes, but they influenced their hearts.

Infidels were defeated, slaughtered and plundered. Certainly, this punishment was necessary for the rebellious people. After that, when fighting was over, then many fortunate people from the Infidels embraced Islam. God Almighty forgave their errors and sent His blessings on them. It has been taught in these verses that although effort and plant is necessary for every work, but the Trust must be in Allah Almighty only.

Excess or scarcity of men or ammunition is nothing

Lesson # 1059 from Holy Qur’aan

Excess or scarcity of men or ammunition is nothing

Surah ‘TAWBAH or BARAAA-‘AH (REPENTANCE) – Chapter – 9)
Stage – 2, Verse – 25 of 129, Section – 4 of 16 (Part – 10)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

25.  Allah hath given you victory on many fields and on the day of Hunayn, when ye exulted in your multitude but it availed you naught, and the earth, vast as it is, was straitened for you; then ye turned back in flight.
25.  Laqad  nasara-kumUllaahu  fii  mawaa-tina  kasiiratinw-wa  yawma  Hunaynin,  ‘iz  ‘a’-jabatkum  kasra-tukum  falam  tugni  ‘ankum  shay-‘anw-wa  zaaqat  ‘alaykumul-  ‘arzu  bimaa  rahubat  summa  wallay-tum-mudbiriin.

Lesson

Mawaa-tina – (fields, places, occasions), this word is plural of maw-tan, origin of which is w-t-n. The word watan is also from the same, which means “dwelling” as well as place of living too, and such place, where something is situated. Therefore, it is used for the battle field also. Here it has the same meaning.

Yawma  Hunaynin – (the day of Hunayn), yawm means “the day”, and Hunayn is the name of a lower place of the earth, which is situated below the mountains. Such earth is called “Valley”. The aim from the words yawma  Hunaynin is “the day, when the Battle of Hunayn was fought. This place is in the way to Taif, near Makkah.

At the time of “the Conquest of Makkah”, manpower strength of Muslim Army was ten thousand. After the conquest of Makkah, it was known that Banu Hawazan and Banu Thaqif etc. the tribes of Taif have been prepared to fight a decisive war against Muslims by gathering their entire chieftains, women and children plus collecting their entire money.

Messenger of God Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) set on Taif along with His ten thousand men, to which two thousand those people joined, who were new Muslims, so then, their manpower strength was twelve thousand fighters, and they were very happy that they will defeat the enemy. Whereas, the strength of enemy’s Army was four thousand only.

From Taif, the tribes were advancing towards Makkah and they encountered the Muslim Army in the field of Hunayn at some distance from Makkah. The Muslims drove off the Infidels and began to plunder their spoils.

In the meantime, the archers of the Infidels, who were famous due to their skill, began to shoot arrows from above the mountains. The Muslims were confused and began to run away. Even that there were only ten soldiers remained with the Messenger of God Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him).

After all, Abbas (may God be pleased with him) called to the Muslims and they returned; as soon as they listened to his sound, and then the Infidels were defeated.

It has been shown in this verse that at the time of fight, victory depends on the help from Allah Almighty. Scarcity and excess of manpower and war equipment is nothing as it was proved in the Battle of Badr.

Muslims are best and noblest people in the world

Lesson # 1058 from Holy Qur’aan

Muslims are best and noblest people in the world

Surah ‘TAWBAH or BARAAA-‘AH (REPENTANCE) – Chapter – 9)
Stage – 2, Verse – 24 of 129, Section – 3 of 16 (Part – 10)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Lesson
(Continued from the last post)

I do not wish to leave this topic till the time, it does not become obvious for the Muslims in the light of Holy Qur-‘aan that: What the Muslims should do nowadays. At least; we must try our best to understand it. It is possible that our effort may be fruitful for peace in the world.

It appears from above both Chapters that nowadays, there is no form of war for Muslims, because sounds are echoing in the world that freedom of opinion and religion is natural right of every human being. No one can fill his opinion or religion in any other’s mind with force. Along with it, this freedom is also being strengthened that no individual or group may use deceitful behavior, pressure, hidden or open threats for making their own traditions current or persuading by flattery or influence.

If the world has really conspired on these matters and it has been decided that every individual and nation is free to go on its own way, and every nation can arrange an organization of its matters according to its internal circumstances, and it can spread openly its judgment, and every group or community will watch the freedom of every individual collectively, then such root will be cut, due to which; burden of war was loaded on the head of Islam forcibly.

Islam lays stress on its followers and instructs them that they should never fight for any other purpose except the cause of preserving the freedom of human conscience. Thirteen years calamitous life of Muslims in Makkah is evident of it.

It can be understood from these Chapters that the Muslims can live peacefully with those people who do not fight Muslims because of the religion. Existence of the Muslims in human society is only for the purpose that they should give confidence to the hearts of the people with their behavior and manners that really, this nation is able to be followed.

It must be remembered that Islamic acts like “offering the prayer, fasting, paying the poor-due and performing the Pilgrimage (Hajj)” have been prescribed for the purpose that by means of them, we may learn to produce good habits into us. If this demand is not fulfilled by them then, either we did not understand the religion Islam correctly, or we took it as “the people should tremble from the name of Muslims”, whether their beliefs are good-for-nothing, deeds worthless and morality lowest.

Bear in mind! Threatening the human beings like this; is not the aim of Islam. Islam desires to teach that the Believers should compel the world to accept it by showing their manners and behavior; that if, some best and noblest people exist in the world, those are these “Muslims”. Otherwise these all are only fables.
